ABSTRACT : This article examines the criticism of exhibitions and museums in the contemporary French generalist press and its affiliations to the genre of cultural and/or multimedia journalistic criticism. Communication characteristics such as journalistic competition in the face of the increasing number of works and exhibitions, the increasing role of images, the power of public relations and the emergence of museum blockbusters, as well as taking into account globalization, make exhibition and museum criticism a product of cultural industries.
