ABSTRACT : In just over twenty years, the media and technological environment of families has changed significantly. Households have gone from having one to two television sets to viewing an average of seven screens. Each family unit is equipped with technological media appliances of various formats, with many features, which are interconnectable, fixed or nomadic, and usable by everyone regardless of age. The proliferation of these screens and their ease of access facilitates frequent use in places and situations uncommon in the past. The purpose of this article is to examine how children under the age of 16 are affected by this state of affairs and more specifically to examine the impact on their mental and physical health. The approach developed here is based on a survey conducted between 2014 and 2016 among 42 childhood and adolescence professionals and practitioners in twelve French departments.
