The heritage department of Annecy has recently developed heritage signage devices displaying city monuments. This article considers these devices as sociotechnical devices as they configure the relation with architecture and urban space. A socio-semiotic approach reveals that several mediations are at stake between users and the architecture. First of all, the construction of an implicit touristic route shapes the urban practice through a spatial mediation. Second of all, the architecture is set up as heritage thanks to historic certifications and a performative discourse.
